Healing Trauma Through Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a hands-on healing system that focuses on clearing energetic pathways in the body, so that balance can be restored. It gets to the root of the problem – as opposed to treating only the symptoms – alleviating suffering on multiple levels i.e., emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual using life force energy, called Ki (Japanese for sacred energy), also known as Chi. Reiki is based on the principles of gratitude, honesty, kindness, compassion and love for oneself and others. Reiki can do no harm and has no adverse effects; it is pure love and thus only seeks to increase life force energy and heal. The healing properties of Reiki range from helping people relax, to assisting in the release of trauma

Every single one of us has a certain area of our life, where we lack that “flow”. Maybe it’s your love life, or maybe you’re struggling to find a job you enjoy and are grateful for. That’s because there is an internal blockage in you – denying you your true potential – which has been caused by trauma or unprocessed wounds gathered throughout your lifetime.

My journey as a Reiki Practitioner

I’ve been intuitive for as long as I can remember. The universe seems to offer me one jigsaw piece at a time, which I then place together, to find my direction in life. Trust is the key. One major jigsaw piece I’ve been gifted is that of Reiki. Countless synchronistic events led me this modality of energy healing; first as a recipient, and later as a Master teacher. As a child, I recall being in awe of my neighbor, who was an Usui Reiki Master. As the years passed, I found myself drawn more and more to energy healing, as well as meditation and therapeutic massage. I trained in Usui Reiki healing and became a Reiki Master teacher in 2020.

Having worked through my own childhood traumas, grief and various other blockages caused by life events, I am eager to share this beautiful gift with the world.

I now practice reiki, massage and crystal healing in Madrid, Spain. I do presential or distant healing session (reiki can travel through time and space using the distance symbol) as well as Reiki attunements (you can become a Reiki practitioner, too!).

Maggie’s healing journey: Childhood trauma

One client who I am particularly proud of is Maggie. She had suffered from depression and anxiety for fifteen years, which originally stemmed from unhealed childhood traumas. This depression had led to alcoholism, multiple strokes, and suicidal tendencies. Her emotional blockages were manifesting as mental and physical symptoms, which goes to show the interconnectedness of each aspect of our being. This is why holistic healing methods are so important. Given her past trauma and history, I knew Reiki would be helpful

Luckily, Maggie decided to give Reiki healing a try.

My first session with Maggie ended in floods of tears. She struggled to stay still and felt guilty for taking this time out for herself. She felt unworthy of the love and attention. As I worked my way through her chakras, I found blockages in her throat chakra (she had struggled to express herself), her heart chakra (she had closed her heart to everyone, including herself), her solar plexus chakra (her sense of self was muddled, she had focused more on pleasing others than on authentic self-expression).

She cried in subsequent sessions, too. The trauma exited slowly from the body through her tears. She described having visualized herself as a child during the sessions, running through emerald fields, laughing, and playing. She described the happiness: a feeling she hadn’t experienced in many years.

Today

Maggie became her own savior through Reiki and her trauma is no longer slaving her. She now lives a happy life, surrounded by her family and friends. She receives Reiki when she feels off-balance, to help her recalibrate and lives her life untainted by the past.
