Improving Relationships With Insights From Astrology

March 14, 2022

Astrology is often mistaken as a tool that provides us all the answers to our problems and aspirations in life, especially those that are yet to come. However, this is not how this ancient knowledge works. Western Astrology, in particular, is about understanding our deepest features through our natal chart. We can say that a birth chart works as “a picture of the sky” in the moment of our birth. It is our astrological birth certificate. Through astrology, we may understand, for example, how we get involve in loving relationships; how our sensitivity and spirituality work; what strategies we use when we want to fight for our goals; how we deal with material and financial issues; how we communicate; and how we  relate with our children and family, among other matters.

Reading the map helps us to know ourselves and to understand the tools we have to build a healthier life. It does not, however, give us all the answers and directions that we want so much.

My approach

Before any reading — natal chart, transit’s chart, solar return, love synastry or others — I always advice my clients not to see Astrology as a way to predict the future. I encourage them to reflect on their motivation behind getting to know themselves better by reading the stars and signs. Lastly, I take into consideration all the client’s notes and read the map based on these observations. The reading must have a personal touch, combining what the customer expects with my insights and knowledge.

A longtime customer

Most of my services take place on the internet, which allows me to have clients all over the world. The client I am going to tell you about is from Switzerland, but she lives in Portugal. She has been consulting me for about four years. We started with her birth chart reading, then she made two love synastries and, once a year, she consults the solar revolution. I will call her Rita.

Family wound

There are two points in the maps that I always discuss because I feel they are essential for understanding key points of our personalities, especially the anxieties we carry: they are kíron (or chíron) and the lunar nodes. In this article, I am going to focus on reading kíron in Rita’s map.

The position of kíron on our chart reveals an “open wound” that we carry throughout our lives. This wound teaches us to find answers to similar problems in our lives through observation and helping others.

Rita has in her natal chart Kiron in Gemini in the 4th house. This astrology house refers to the sign of Cancer and deals with our relationships with our home, our family, our upbringing, the past and our roots. Rita always felt that she was unable to develop a healthy relationship with her family and that issues in her upbringing were unsolved. However, she felt a strong connection with her family and a strong desire to make this relationship healthier.

Only by acknowledging that, Rita started understanding that this wound would not suddenly heal and that she should pay attention to people with similar problems. By listening to and helping others, she began to understand these issues in her life and started to apply, more assertively, means to improve her family dynamics.

Better insights

Even though understanding this placement and other points on Rita’s map did not make her discover all the ways to deal with her problems, it made her see better possibilities for dealing with them and stop blaming herself for not being able to deal with certain issues. She understood that, simply, certain events happen because they are part of our learning journey.

With these insights, Rita was able to make positive changes in her life. This is Astrology, a guide to help us understand the tools we have to heal aspects of our lives, including relationships.
