My name is Heather and I’m 38 years old. As a busy mom, I rely on natural medicine to help keep my family and myself as healthy as possible. I live in Colorado and love to spend time outdoors with my family and two dogs. Aside from being a full-time mom, I do freelance work part-time. I was fortunate enough to have a mom that taught me about natural medicine and homeopathy at a young age. She encouraged me to use a whole-body approach to health and wellness. This type of approach, which included homeopathy, takes into account mental, physical, and emotional health.
Indeed, as a child, I had a lot of health issues and my mom used homeopathy to support my body.
I believe the body has an innate healing mechanism that we can tap into and support through the use of homeopathy. A natural approach such as homeopathy can support the body and promote overall wellness without adverse side effects. I saw how well my body responded to homeopathy and I knew it was something that would be a part of my lifestyle for years to come. Unfortunately, I have been through a lot of challenges and stressful times in my adult life so far.
After years of enduring stress on a physical, mental and emotional level; my body started to show numerous signs of being depleted. I began to feel fatigued and I was no longer able to cope with the day-to-day stresses. Also, my body was overloaded and my tank was empty. I started to have digestive issues, fatigue, sleep problems, and constant anxiety. Even though I was great at taking care of others, I found that I wasn’t as good at taking care of myself. I began to experience panic attacks and worsening anxiety. But I started to listen to what my body was telling me. I knew that I needed to address my mental, physical and emotional health so I could get back into balance.
As a full-time mom, it was easy to continue to put my health on the back burner and just try to manage my symptoms as best I could. But I was truly burnt out and I began to realize that I needed to dive deeper into my healing journey. I knew that I wanted to apply my knowledge of natural and homeopathic medicine to help my body recover. My mom suggested a natural health practitioner that she thought would be a good fit for me.
Fortunately, she was right and I began to work with the natural health practitioner on a plan that would support my whole body and allow for healing to take place. Going to a natural health practitioner offered space for me to truly acknowledge what my body was telling me. The uncomfortable symptoms that I was experiencing was simply my body alerting me to an imbalance that needed to be corrected so we started to apply different techniques to get my body back into harmony.
Homeopathy has been such a staple in my life to keep my health in check. I told my natural medicine practitioner how well my body responds to homeopathic medicine. We devised a plan to support my body with homeopathic and herbal medicines. We were able to address my gut health issues, fatigue, and anxiety. In fact, I used different homeopathic remedies to manage my anxiety and panic attacks without having to go on anti-anxiety medications. My favorite homeopathic for anxiety, panic attacks, and trauma is Rescue Remedy. It comes in liquid form and I was able to take drops of it directly in my mouth whenever I started to feel anxious. This helped me calm down so I could continue with my day and handle all my responsibilities.
There are a lot of types of caregivers in the world, including moms, and we tend to put the needs of others above ours. A whole-body approach to wellness taught me how important it is to take care of myself. I have gratitude for the lessons learned in my healing journey. In fact, thanks to homeopathy; I was able to reduce my digestive issues, fight fatigue, and relieve anxiety.
Mental health is so important and being able to support myself with a natural approach has been so helpful. So, if you are feeling depleted, drained and at the end of your rope, know that you are not alone. I have been there and found a way to help myself recover and thrive.
